The 2022 North-West Sydney World Conferences

“The global challenges now facing humanity are a severe test of its willingness to put aside short-term self-interest and come to terms with this stark spiritual and moral reality: there is but one, interconnected human family and it shares one precious homeland.”

1. Purpose

Work for betterment of the world, and live together with unity and harmony

The Conference focuses on significance of the time we live in, the role and responsibilities of individuals, communities, and institutions at local and global levels for building vibrant communities, bringing social transformation, participating in social action and endeavours of prevalent discourses, and bringing hope to people for building a unified world where all can live in peace and harmony.

As such, the purpose is to explore the following topics and to discuss the major themes outlined underneath:

Transcending differences – What shared vision or attribute we need to re-build our communities together?
Harmonising perspectives – How do we build a unified vision among diverse beliefs and backgrounds?
Developing qualities for service – What human characteristics and values are building blocks for a stable social order?
Promoting consultation – How do we navigate a pathway to decision making through inclusivity, understanding and detachment?
Recognising our oneness as a single human family – How is our understanding of the inherent oneness of humanity a means for social progress?

2. Major Themes for Discussion

    • Building vibrant communities – How is the growing culture of worship and service contributing to the transformation of the lives of the people in your local area?
    • Educational endeavours for Service – What steps can be taken to ensure that the educational system in your local area is prepared for both the spiritual, moral, and intellectual needs of the whole community from childhood to adulthood? How this system raises the consciousness of the local population to the spiritual qualities and attitudes?
    • Contributing to social transformation – In what ways are the community building endeavours helping to raise consciousness and overcome the social, economic, and cultural barriers impeding spiritual and material progress?
    • Bahá’u’lláh’s vision for humanity – How you, and those working alongside you, are learning to raise the consciousness of the local population of the spiritual qualities and attitudes that are needed to contribute to the betterment of society?
    • Distance traversed – What has been the progress and milestones achieved in your local area by people from all walks of life striving to apply Bahá’u’lláh’s vision for humanity?
